In 2023 JW Fishers will be expanding their ROV line with the SeaLion-3. The SeaLion-3 ROV continues JW Fishers’ heritage of value and innovation. With twice as many thrusters for horizontal movement, the SeaLion-3 is twice as powerful as its predecessor. The four vectored thrusters allow horizontal motion in any direction and the ability to rotate in place. Vertical power is also increased, with three thrusters for diving and lifting. The unique vertical thruster placement also provides the ability to adjust the pitch and trim of the ROV. The SeaLion-3 is depth rated to 1,000ft with the option of up to 1,500ft of tether. The SeaLion-3 has two full-HD video cameras and recording capability. The SeaLion-3 has a full complement of sensors and attachments allowing the operator to concentrate on driving and searching with the ROV, without having to worry about maintaining depth, heading or other navigational concerns.
JW Fishers’ side scan sonar line consists of either a 450/900 kHz CHIRP Side Scan Sonar system or a 600kHz single frequency system. These turnkey systems provide longer-range settings and increased resolution at a fraction of the cost of the competition. Sonars are one of the most effective tools for underwater search operations because they produce a detailed picture of the bottom regardless of water clarity. Rugged construction, powerful software and simplicity of operation are key features of JWF sonars. High-resolution images are sent from the towfish to either a 10.1” tablet mounted in the control box lid or an optional ruggedized laptop for display and storage. The included GPS allows a target’s position coordinates to be instantly viewed and automatically stored with the sonar data. Optional boat-tracking software shows the path of the boat as it travels over the search area and the width of the scanned area, all overlaid on a nautical chart.
JW Fishers’ Pulse 8X is a commercial-grade underwater metal detector rated #1 by the US Department of Homeland Security. This detector is capable of detecting targets at a range of over 6ft. The Pulse 8X works equally well on land and underwater. It comes complete with an underwater earphone, land headphones, handles for land and underwater use, AC and DC battery chargers, hip mount kit and a rugged nylon carry bag. An extensive line of interchangeable coils makes this one of the most versatile and powerful detectors on the market today.
JW Fishers’ SAR-1 was specifically designed for public safety dive teams to locate metallic objects in low-visibility environments. The ‘snareless’ SAR-1 has a streamlined design with no external wires or cables, ultra-bright LED indicators and a vibration feature. When the detector approaches a metal object the handle begins to vibrate and the LEDS illuminate. As the bright yellow search coil gets closer to the target, the vibration becomes more rapid and more of the high-intensity red LEDs light up.
