A range of bio-based agents formulated for rapid extinguishment across multiple fire classes
TLX Fire & Security and Redline Fire Solutions announce a new partnership to bring to market a range of agents formulated for rapid extinguishment across multiple fire classes, beginning with agents formulated for lithium-ion battery fires.
Formulated for firefighters by firefighters, these patented bio-based agents are PFAS-free, non-corrosive, non-toxic, and biodegradable, giving fire services an effective option that is safer for responders and the environment. All ingredients are on the EPA’s Safer Chemical Ingredients List.
Fire departments need agents that can quickly extinguish lithium-ion battery fires, prevent reignition, and stop thermal runaway. They also need alternatives to PFAS-based products, which face increasing regulatory scrutiny. By combining the expertise of TLX Fire & Security and Redline Fire Solutions, this partnership brings responders a PFAS-free option designed for these challenging fires.
Thermal Stop® and Thermal Shield® are the only products on the market that address all four elements of the fire tetrahedron in lithium-ion battery fires. Thermal Stop®, a patented wetting agent, extinguishes lithium-ion fires and stops thermal runaway in seconds or minutes, with minimal water, and is also effective on Class A, B, D, and K fires. Its companion product, Thermal Shield®, stabilizes batteries after extinguishment for safe transport and storage. Both are PFAS-free, non-toxic, biodegradable, and independently certified to NFPA 18.
