Nigel Joslin is the chairman of the FIA working group on fire fighting foam. He is managing phase one of an FIA funded project to research the benefits of using foam or wetting agents to tackle fires in biomass.

Fires are common in waste recycling centres due to the vast piles of flammable materials, which can be difficult to extinguish.
