The Tech Launchpad will bring together start-up companies less than three years old to showcase new cutting-edge solutions being designed and developed for the emergency sector. It will be the perfect place to meet future-shaping leaders in tech innovation and find out how founders of the UK and Europe’s most exciting start-ups are approaching funding and scaling while tackling some the greatest challenges facing the blue light sector.
A unique Tech Hub will showcase the vital cyber solutions coming from the pioneers of emergency services technologies and transforming strategies across the blue-light sector.

Emergency One will show the E1 Magirus 42m Turntable Ladder, recently completed for Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and the new West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service appliance. The E1 Incident Command Unit, designed for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, will be showcased at the Connected Vehicle Zone.
Also on display will be Emergency One’s latest equipment for combating electric vehicle (EV) fires, including the E1 Tactical Suppression System and the E1 EV Submersion Unit. Clan Tools and Plant will be showcasing the latest fire and rescue equipment ranging from the Lukas e3 Connect to the Seek Thermal Imaging Camera.
Excelerate Technology, sponsors of the Connected Vehicle Zone, will be featuring the Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Police’s joint command unit (JCU) and demonstrating a range of livestreaming applications including drone and body worn video. There will also be livestreaming demonstrations between the E1 Magirus 42m Turntable ladder and the Northants JCU.
New products on the Delta Fire stand will include the DF-7X foam branchpipe with variable foam induction capabilities and the new take-apart Pro nozzle.
The ever-popular Extrication and Trauma Challenges hosted by West Midlands Fire Service return again this year. The two competitive challenges showcase the latest technology and equipment in action, livestreamed to large video screens. Visitors can get close to the action and immerse themselves in the high-intensity atmosphere of a road-collision incident. Showcasing collaboration, communication and best practice, teams will test their skills on first aid and trauma care, road traffic accident extrication and casualty care.
Resilience and recovery are key themes of this year’s event with the Resilience and Recovery Theatre and a dedicated networking lounge hosted by the Emergency Planning Society to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The Resilience & Recovery Theatre will focus on the Government’s Resilience Framework document. Topics covered include developing a new Resilience Academy; a reinvigorated national exercising programme to test preparedness; the new emergency alerts system; strengthening Local Resilience Forums; the benefits of ResilienceDirect, resilience as a career, and how the private sector can impact resilience planning.
Dedicated to providing cutting-edge industry practices and fostering forward-thinking discussions, the seminar programme at the show will feature an impressive line-up of keynote speakers and expert-led sessions. The Lessons Learned Leaders’ Summit will delve into the profound takeaways from significant events of the past year. The Health & Wellbeing Theatre will focus on addressing the physical and mental-health challenges faced by emergency responders. Unveiling a refreshed Collaboration Zone for 2023, this enhanced area will unite the emergency services, voluntary groups, charities and NGOs in a vibrant community to showcase their support and foster collaborative co-response and partnership initiatives.
Networking opportunities have long been one of the biggest draws at ESS and this year there will networking drinks at the end of the show’s first day, taking place in the Hall 5 Networking Café.
