Super scoopers arrive in Southern California

For at least a decade or two the Los Angeles County Fire Department has contracted for two water-scooping air tankers to come on duty beginning around the first of September. This year is no exception — two of them are now in place, the department announced Sunday, on loan from the province of Quebec.
